Phase Three of construction is in the works for Lake Central. The athletic fields, auditorium, gym, administration wing, media center and fine arts area are all getting closer and closer to the final product.

“[The fine arts area] passed all above ceiling inspections, [and] the painting and flooring are substantially complete. We are currently dropping ceiling and installing casework,” Mr. William Ledyard, Director of Construction and Facilities, said.

An anticipated stage of construction is the 20,000 sq. ft. gym, estimated to seat 4,000 people.

“The overhead HVAC and sprinkler rough ins are substantially complete. We are painting the locker room and shower area [and] we started painting the auxiliary gym. We will continue installing HVAC equipment in the main mechanical room west upper level,” Mr. Ledyard said.

Estimated to be ready for their upcoming seasons, the outdoor athletic fields’ construction is put to a pause for weather conditions.

“The baseball and softball fields are complete and ready for our student athletes to use once the weather breaks and snow melts. The football field filled west seating foundations are complete, we have started the east side but the weather has temporarily put a hold on that work,” Mr. Ledyard said.

By December of 2015, everything is expected to be done with construction.
