On Friday, June 12, “Jurassic World” opened its park to theaters across the country. This is the fourth movie of the ‘Jurassic Park” franchise. “Jurassic World” has a variety of acclaimed actors and actresses, featuring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, along with some familiar franchise faces, like B.D. Wong.

Here is a small preview on how this action packed thriller went. Jurassic World broke ground on Isla Nublar, 22 years after Jurassic Park closed on the same island, and has been open to tourists since 2005. Zach (Nick Robinson) and Grey (Ty Simpkins) get tickets to Jurassic World from their aunt, park operations manager Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard). Soon after their arrival, the park’s newest dinosaur the Indominus Rex, a genetically modified hybrid T-Rex, tricks workers and escapes. Military veteran and animal adept Owen (Chris Pratt) is called in to capture the asset out of containment. Soon after Zach, Gray, and thousands of other tourists become informed on the situation. As the island turns into complete chaos, the boys take advantage of the park’s security breaches and go off roading, which brings them face to face with the escaped creature. Claire and Owen head out to find the boys through the dangerous and deadly forests. As Claire and Owen find the boys, head of Jurassic World’s security Hoskins (Vincent D’Onofrio) takes charge of the dinosaur hunt.

After the genetically modified monster roams through most of island, Hoskins sends out the Velociraptors led by their alpha male, Owen. The speedy dinosaurs race to trace the Indominus Rex’s scent and find the large animal in the forest. As security tries to take down the unstoppable beast, it quickly becomes a blood bath. Finally, the big rex roars towards where tourists have hunkered down. Claire quickly releases the park’s Tyrannosaurus Rex as a final effort to take down the Indominus Rex. The two dinosaurs attack one another, but the Tyrannosaurus comes out on top. The movie ends with most of the Jurassic World staff and tourists returning home safely. The film made several references to the first installment of the franchise, “Jurassic Park’.

“Jurassic World” in my opinion was equally as exciting as the first movie, “Jurassic Park,” but I felt there were too many references to the first film. This fourth film was very modernized with 21st century technology and attractions, while the first film had much older machinery and technology.
