Kids Herper Art Contest hosted a reptile art contest to be featured in the May 2014 issue of Reptiles Magazine. William Kruzan (9) won the contest and was recognized for his panther chameleon painting.

“This recognition was most important to me because now I can say I am a published artist in a national magazine,” Kruzan said.

Students ages 5-15 submitted artwork for the “REPTILES’” “Kids Herper Art Contest.” The winner of each age group won a prize sponsored by Zilla Reptile Products.

“My prize was a box filled with $100 worth of reptile-keeping supplies,” Kruzan said.

Kruzan started his art career when he received a sketchbook from his godfather who is an artist. He is enrolled in Mr. Paul Volk’s 2D art class this year. Kruzan hopes to continue his art career in the future.

“I plan on entering other art-involved contests. The magazine usually does two art competitions every year. [The contest] was such a fun experience and I look forward to [contests] like it in the future,” Kruzan said.
