Sydney Potpora (9) passes the ball up the field toward the goal. The team had good communication and passes that evening, which led to their victory.

On Tuesday evening, Aug. 25, the JV girls soccer team dominated over Michigan City. The final score was 9-0, Lake Central.

“We played pretty well. It wasn’t too hard because right out of the game we were attacking. We got our goals, and we were communicating pretty well,” AnneMarie Hemmerling (9) said.

Hemmerling assisted in multiple goals throughout the night. Her assists led Lake Central strong into the game with a score of 5-0 only after the first 20 minutes. All the Lady Indians showed hard work and spirit throughout the game.

“I think that everyone’s true colors showed during this game because they gave us a really good advantage that boosted everyone’s choreography,” Sydney Potpora (9) said.

Although the girls played a good game and ended with an outstanding score of 9-0, they still have a few things to improve on to make the season even better.

“We need to improve on how we move the ball and how they move off the ball because we don’t anticipate [moves well],” Coach Vince Pucci said.

The next game will be at home on Saturday, Aug. 29, at 10:00 a.m. against Highland.
