Aislinn Wade (10) performs her beam routine. The team ended with a score of 98.75.

The girls gymnastics team came together with performances on Thursday, Jan. 28. The Indians ended with a score of 98.75.

“I think we did pretty well. It was a little rocky on some events at the first meet before that, but we really pulled it together and worked hard the past couple of days and then did really well against Crown Point,” Aislinn Wade (10) said.

The girls plan to work hard in their upcoming meets. Some of the main competitors for the team include Valparaiso and Crown Point High School. The girls don’t plan on letting this loss affect them in the future.

“I love [Chesterton’s] gym. Their floor is awesome. All of their equipment is great. It’s always a fun meet. I think we’ll definitely try our best to try to beat them but if it doesn’t happen then we’ll get them at the next meet,” Lauren Druzbicki (12) said.

The girls’ next meet will be at Chesterton High School on Feb. 9 at 6 p.m.
