On Sept. 14, varsity boys tennis played Crown Point. Crown Point defeated the Indians with a final score of 4-1.

Although this match resulted in a loss for Lake Central, the team’s spirit wasn’t tarnished.

“Nothing tarnishes the good old spirit of Jack Scanlon. That never happens,” Jack Scanlon (11) said.

The team has had their own personal goals they have been working on.

“I started at a very basic level and that took a lot of hard work to get where I am now, because the hits that I use are fairly advanced shots and that took a lot of work, like my serve took a year to perfect so that’s been a struggle, but now it’s all good.” Jack Scanlon (11) said.

“Keeping my ground strokes constant a little more, keep getting them in.” Matthew Matakovic (12) said.

The team had lots of good things to say about each other and said they are all really good friends in and outside of tennis. They got to know each other well through the many hours of practice and games.

“Best thing is that everyone knows each other really well,” Nathan Doyle (10) said.
