Achieving at least a 3.9 grade point average can be a hard task to accomplish. A student has to juggle his or her academic life, social life and extra curriculars. Those students who have received a 3.9 GPA or higher are recognized at the Academic Letterwinners club banquet.

The banquet was held on April 4 at the Casa Maria Banquet Hall in Dyer. The banquet awarded those members of Academic Letterwinners who maintained a 3.9 GPA.

“I keep organized and my time to make sure everything gets done when it needs to be and, when I can, I work ahead,” Rachel McCord (12) said.

Students who achieve the qualifying grades are eligible to receive different awards. These awards follow an order: numerals, chevron, letter, chevron, pin, chevron, plaque, chevron.

“There are approximately 400 students that are members although that will fluctuate throughout the year,” Mr. David Harnish, Science, said.
