The Hilton Hotel in Chicago was packed with jersey-adorned fans when Chicago hosted their seventh annual Blackhawks Convention the weekend of July 18.

The Windy City had many more exciting events going on indoors on Saturday, July 19, when the Convention ran from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Over 90 former and current members of the Chicago Blackhawks attended the Convention, signed autographs, took pictures, and spoke at press conference.

Every person who had passes to the convention received a complimentary bag filled with Blackhawks convention merchandise and a scratch-off chance to win an autograph signing with an anonymous player.

When the time came, the winning conventioneers stood in line for up to an hour and a half to go see their player. Andrew Shaw signed autographs in Ballroom B at 4:30 while, simultaneously, Brent Seabrook signed autographs in Ballroom A.

Among the convention rooms, the most interesting had many hockey games for children and adults both to participate in, with lines varying from five to thirty minutes. Trophies awarded to players were displayed in the same room. There were also opportunities for conventioneers to get cropped in past game pictures using green screens.

The Chicago Blackhawks are hosting a Training Camp Festival at their home, the United Center, on Monday, Sept. 22 at 5 p.m. Parking is free and the admission fee is $5.
