Q: How long have you been playing soccer?

A: “[I’ve been playing] since I was three.”

Q: What made you want to try out for the LC team?

A: “[I wanted to] continue my soccer career.”

Q: How long have you been on varsity?

A: “[I’ve been playing] since freshman year, when I got pulled up [from JV].”

Q: What is your favorite memory from playing?

A: “[My] favorite memory would have to be [at each game that] we won, [it] brought the team closer together, and we began to trust each other and listen to each other more as the season went on.”

Q: As a senior, what were your goals for your last season at LC?

A: “[I wanted the team to] win sectionals, regionals, semi-state, and make a state appearance.”

Q: What is it like having your brother play on the boys team?

A:  “Me and my brother played on the same team for many years. Our dad coached us. When I turned 10, we went to a premier team. We were put into different age groups, but we [still] play for each other and we test each others’ limits and always look to improve each other whether it’s new moves or shooting.”

Q: How do you both connect the two teams during training?

A: “We recently had a scrimmage, the girls versus the guys team, and we both play in the middle so we had to mark [or guard] each other and it brought back lots of memories from where from when we were little.”

Q: Do you play on a team outside of LC?

A: “My last club season was last year; I will be playing with friends for the winter indoor soccer [season].”

Q: How has being on the team affected your high school experience?

A: “Being on the LC team has shown me [many] good and bad experiences that could happen when I’m older. The most valuable lesson I learned was junior year when I was announced captain. I knew I had to step up and take on a leadership role. It’s going to be a big help when I’m older because it gave me confidence in everything I do.”

Q: What are you going to miss the most in high school?

A: “I’m going to miss the games under the [stadium] lights and the [team] pasta parties. We have lots of traditions that I’m glad I was a part of and I will miss them along with the younger girls.”

Q: What are your plans for college?

A: “I’m actually not going to college. I really wanted to go to Saint Mary’s at Notre Dame, for Forensic Science.  I was accepted, but I went to this apprenticeship school for electricians and I found that it was far more fascinating and $100,000 cheaper. With this, I will be working hands on and learning at the same time. I want to get ahead of life rather than [be] set back in debt.”
