Taylor Swift’s fifth album, 1989, is the singer-songwriter’s first official pop album. It was released in stores on Monday, Oct. 27, and she has planned a world tour for the album, which will begin in May of 2015.

Since Taylor Swift has released her fifth album, 1989, talk of the singer-songwriter has yet to be quieted. The new album, named after the year she was born, seems to be breaking ground from her country roots, as it is her first official pop album.

The album conquers critics with satirical songs, such as “Shake it Off” and “Blank Space,” which put a new twist on Swift’s reputation for writing lyrics about devastating breakups. As she was born on the thirteenth day of December in 1989, the 24-year-old artist has created a career-alternating sound for her growing audience, shown through her 13 newest hits.

In addition to buying her new album, fans are also encouraged to download the “American Express Unstaged Taylor Swift Experience” app, which is available through the iTunes App Store. Some of its features include music videos, behind the scenes exclusives, tour details and the chance to make in-app purchases.

In May, Swift will be kicking off the 1989 World Tour, and by July she will be traveling to Chicago for her stadium performance at Soldier Field. Tickets for the tour went on sale to the general public on Friday, Nov. 14.
