Lady Gaga’s Joanne

Lady Gaga released her fifth studio album “Joanne” on Oct. 21, which follows her previous albums “Cheek to Cheek” (2014), “Artpop” (2013) and “Born This Way” (2011). Gaga’s album has sold 201,000 units so far.

Joanne approaches itself as a modern, fresh pop sound that expresses individuality and passion in each tune. Songs such as “Perfect Illusion” and “Million Reasons” give people the outlook on letting go of a past love and moving on to ‘a better you’. The album also heavily focuses on the topic of family and life, with the death of her father’s late sister, Joanne Stefani Germanotta, having a strong lyrical influence on the album.

Gaga collaborated with several producers in the album including Mark Ronson, Jeff Bhasker, RedOne and BloodPop, and co-produced the majority of the material.

Joanne tells the story of reaching out to oneself and dealing with personal life issues. This album’s theme is much different than the previous topics of Gaga’s past records, such as her “Artpop” album which was influenced by the idea of fame and feminism. Overall, the album’s message is guaranteed to inspire and entertain people of all ages.
