M. Night Shyamalan knows how to leave his audience uneasy with his new film “Split.” The movie released in theaters on Jan. 20 and has intrigued many horror fans to view its thrilling story.

Three teenagers, Claire (Haley Lu Richardson), Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Marcia (Jessica Sula), are kidnapped by a man diagnosed of 23 split personalities inhabiting the body of Kevin Wendell Crumb (James McAvoy), a childhood victim of abuse with severe dissociative identity disorder. They are held captive in his basement. The girls attempt to escape their cells throughout the movie before the 24th personality, “The Beast,” is revealed.

In the end, the girls return home. The scene switches to Kevin’s location, where a few of his personalities, “Dennis,””Patricia” and “Hedwig” endure permanent control of his body and mind and hope to use the personality, “The Beast,” for strong ability and good deeds.

The film also shocks its audience with a major plot twist. It reveals that “Split” is set in the same location as “Unbreakable,” Shyamalan’s superhero thriller starring Samuel L. Jackson and Bruce Willis.

Overall, the spine-tingling horror has grossed over $145 million worldwide and is guaranteed to leave the audience anxious with it’s unexpected plot and erie personality.
